In my experience, people who haven’t had much experience with Rhode Island tend to make fun of it. And who can blame them? All anyone has heard about it in popular media is that we reelected a mayor who served prison time for beating a man with a fireplace log, our systemic corruption, and it being a mafia hotbed.
And any RI’er will be the last person to claim it’s perfect, but it’s definitely special. Although I had a typical outsider view when I first came to RI, it’s all been a blast in this state and I’ll miss it for sure when I leave. Here are some photos of my time in RI!
